This blog reflects my interests and activities as I blend them into my journeys. To name a few: nature, wine, baseball, road trips. It’s a mixed bag! I hope these match some of your interests, too.

As a freelance writer, sometimes I travel for work. Sometimes it’s to be with family. And sometimes it’s just a trip to go somewhere. Whatever the reason, I love the process of traveling and learning, even if it’s not always easy, comfortable, or without unexpected bumps.

My travel life takes many forms.

First, my method of travel: I fly when I must or when it makes sense destination-wise, but if time permits I prefer to go slower – by car, train, bus, or boat. At my destination, I love to walk or take public transportation.

Next, my accommodations: they can vary from a sleeping bag in a tent to an overnight train to hotels of every sort. Each has its place.

And finally, my destinations: they’re near and far, from my home base to a distant continent. I feel excited to discover a local celebration or a compelling hiking spot or a food I haven’t tried before, whether it’s in the next town or a country across the globe.

I grew up in Arizona. My home is the redwood region of coastal northwest California. I also spend a lot of time in Los Angeles.
